This video tells the story of the history of a very well known song from our school town called Blaydon; The Blaydon Races.

Back in 1862 the Blaydon Races was officially a horse race. Today it is still gong, but now it is a running road race. It takes place every year on June 9th.

The song is always sung at our local  football clubs matches –  Newcastle United.
