The children at St. Mary & St. Thomas Aquinas Primary School celebrated European Language Day. The children in Year 1 and Year 2 learnt to sing the song “If your’re happy and you know it clap your hands” in Italian.
The children in Year 4 enjoyed learning about family life in the past. First they designed a questionnaire to take home. They used this to interview older family members and friends about their life in the past.
Following this, Year 4 enjoyed welcoming an older member of the local community into school to ask more questions. They learnt about family holidays, family meals, family games and family activities.
Year Six have been learning what it takes to make TV broadcasts through research of different topics and script writing.
They researched about the food from our different partner countries and, whilst they were cooking with the Lets Get Cooking team, created a food video about how the dishes were made. They will soon be appearing on school TV !
